Since 2004, I’ve used Laser Acupuncture in my practice, a safe, painless modality.
What is it?
Laser Acupuncture uses Low Level Lasers, aka Cold Lasers (class 3b, non-surgical lasers) to stimulate the acupuncture points, treat pain and swelling in local tissue and promote healing. This safe, painless therapy uses infrared light in the non-ionizing part of the spectrum (the type of radiation that does not damage cell DNA).
How does it work?
Low level therapeutic lasers promote healing by giving the cell energy: the cell converts the photon light energy into cellular energy (ATP) which gives cells a boost to function properly and heal where healing has become stagnant.
MRI research has found Laser Acupuncture to stimulate the brain similarly to needle acupuncture.
Who Can Benefit?
Laser Acupuncture can be used successfully in place of needles in some patients or in addition to traditional acupuncture techniques. I use it in my practice for:
Children, Needle-phobic patients, Musculoskeletal pain/swelling, Fertility.
